Women Empowerment

Dalal Family Foundation works to expand opportunities for girls and women so they can learn, grow, and lead. We support girls’ education, fund schools that focus on equal access, and provide training programs that help women including those with disabilities to gain skills for financial independence.

Our efforts also include initiatives that promote health, build resilience, and strengthen decision-making. By encouraging confidence and self-reliance, the Foundation helps women and girls follow their ambitions and play an active role in their families and communities.

Jyotiben Dalal Skill Development Center at PNR Society, Bhavnagar, Gujarat

The Jyotiben Dalal Skill Development Centre empowers persons with disabilities through vocational training, skill development, and livelihood opportunities that foster independence and self-confidence.

The Centre provides hands-on training in areas such as:

  • Basic Sewing
  • Advanced Sewing
  • Beauty Parlor Services
  • Making of Soaps, Perfumes, Shampoos, Shower Gels, Incense (Dhoop) and Agarbatti

Training programs are tailored to each individual’s abilities, interests, and aspirations, helping participants develop marketable skills and pathways toward meaningful employment.

The Swarachna School and girls’ hostel – Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh

Swarachna School, situated in  Kaintain village of Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh, is the first senior secondary school for the surrounding 13 villages. With the collective efforts of Milaan and the community, the school provides holistic and value-based education to children with an emphasis on girls’ empowerment and education.

Girls on The Run of Central Jersey, New Jersey

Girls on the Run offers fun, evidence-based programs that inspire all girls to build their confidence, kindness and decision-making skills. The program culminates with a 5K race. Our eight-year partnership has made a major impact – we have been able to provide scholarships to more than 300 girls in Camden, Middlesex and Somerset counties, thereby affording opportunities for girls in low-income communities to participate in the program.

Ayati Charity, New Jersey

Ayati’s charity mission is to educate girls in rural India about optimal hygiene practices and to provide the proper materials to help them lead better lives through the Girl Icon program. The foundation has supported the Ayati Charity since their inception 10 years ago and has impacted a few hundred girls in villages of North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Members of the Dalal family (Foundation CEO Nayan’s daughter Anushka and wife Bindu) visited a few villages of north India and experienced the impact of the Girl Icon program.
