Founder's Message

Inspired by my parents’ benevolent philosophy, I established Dalal Family Foundation to continue their lifelong commitment to social responsibility. The foundation is a reflection of the values, teachings, and charitable spirit of my parents, Jyoti and Pravin Dalal.

“Profit with Purpose” and “Growth with Goodness” are two principles that best define the vision and motivation behind the foundation’s work and impact.

More than two decades ago, Dalal Family Foundation began with a simple mission—to support those in need and create meaningful change. Today, the foundation focuses on Education, Women and Disability Empowerment, Senior Citizen Support, Medical Welfare, and Animal Welfare. For over 25 years, we have partnered with organizations in the United States and India that share our vision and help expand the reach and impact of our initiatives.

As I continue to lead and grow Dalal Family Foundation, I feel grateful for the opportunity to serve others and contribute to the well-being of communities. I thank God for making me a “Nimitt” — the Sanskrit word for an “instrument” of service. I am also deeply thankful to my wife, Bindu, and our three children, Aditya, Akash, and Anuskha, for their constant encouragement and shared commitment to giving back.

As we say in our family, “If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your path.”

I look forward to Dalal Family Foundation continuing its journey of thoughtful giving and positive impact for many years to come.

About the Founder

Mr. Nayan Dalal is a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the CEO of TLI Home and the founder of The Dalal Family Foundation, Inc., based in New Jersey, USA.

Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Nayan moved to the United States more than 35 years ago to pursue his MBA. In 1992, he established TLI Home, a home textile import company headquartered in New Jersey. Today, the company is a recognized leader in the home textiles industry, with offices in South Plainfield, New Jersey; Mumbai, India; and Shanghai, China.

Nayan’s personal philosophy is reflected in the words of Winston Churchill: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give,” and William James: “The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.”

Inspired by his parents and driven by a deep commitment to giving back to society, Nayan established Dalal Family Foundation in 1997. In recent years, he expanded the foundation’s presence by opening a satellite office in Mumbai, extending its philanthropic efforts beyond the United States to his birth country of India.

Nayan also serves on the boards of trustees and advisory boards of several social, cultural, educational, and charitable organizations in the United States and India.
