TLI HOME DAY OF CARING

TLI Home’s team spent a Day of Caring at Milt Campbell Field in the city of Plainfield. The volunteers spent most of the afternoon focusing on the park’s beautification, providing fresh coats of paint to the public bathroom, disposing of trash around the park, clearing walking paths and planting flowers. On the service day, Plainfield Mayor Adrian Mapp and Chief of Staff Jazz Clayton-Hunt welcomed TLI Home’s team and expressed their gratitude to Nayan Dalal and his family on behalf of the City of Plainfield. More recently, TLI Home has made monetary donation to the City of Plainfield to purchase new park benches, planters and a message board for the park.

THE SEEING EYE

Morristown, NJ – Service Dogs for the blind and visually impaired

The Seeing Eye’s mission is to enhance the independence, dignity and self-confidence of people who are blind through the use of specially trained dogs. In pursuit of this mission, The Seeing Eye breeds and raises puppies through their volunteer puppy raising program, trains the dogs to guide blind people, instructs blind people in the proper use, handling, and care of the dogs and conducts and supports research on canine health and development. TLI Home supports this program by monetary donation, donation of dog beds and raising a puppy in their home.

CHINMAYA RAMDOOT CULTURAL CENTER

Branchburg, NJ

Chinmaya Mission is a spiritual movement that aims for inner growth at individual and collective levels through Vedanta (the knowledge of universal oneness), provides study forums for all ages, promotes Indian classical art forms, and operates numerous social service projects.

The foundation supports Chinmaya Ramdoot with facilities improvements.

Scotch Plains, NJ – Donated funds to help combat food insecurity

The Immaculate Heart of Mary Food Pantry serves the local community affected by unexpected hardships and food insecurity in the aftermath of the pandemic. The Dalal Foundation has provided financial assistance to help the IHM food pantry play a critical part in helping an increasing number of families in local communities.

PETS FOR VETS

Helping veterans and pets create new beginnings together Pets for Vets uses the powerful bond between humans and animals to help both veterans and pets by pairing them together. TLI Home has collaborated with Pets for Vets to further this mission by sharing a percentage of their profits.

AYATI CHARITY

Ayati’s charity mission is to educate girls in rural India about optimal hygiene practices and to provide the proper materials to help them lead better lives through the Girl Icon program. The foundation has supported the Ayati Charity since their inception 10 years ago and has impacted a few hundred girls in villages of North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Members of the Dalal family (Foundation CEO Nayan’s daughter Anushka and wife Bindu) visited a few villages of north India and experienced the impact of the Girl Icon program.

Endowed Annual Scholarships

MIDDLESEX College - Edison, NJ

Criteria:
Students pursuing accounting, business, fashion, merchandising and retail management,marketing and management degrees; demonstration of financial need; maintained 3.25 GPA or higher. Eight students awarded per year with annual scholarships and four with endowed scholarships. About 20 students have been awarded so far.

The foundation has been awarding four scholarships to graduating seniors for their college education since 10+ years. More than 40 students have been scholarship recipients.

Girls on the Run of Central Jersey

Empowering elementary school girls of local New Jersey community

Girls on the Run offers fun, evidence-based programs that inspire all girls to build their confidence, kindness and decision-making skills. The program culminates with a 5K race. Our eight-year partnership has made a major impact – we have been able to provide scholarships to more than 300 girls in Camden, Middlesex and Somerset counties, thereby affording opportunities for girls in low-income communities to participate in the program.
