Founder's Message

Inspired by my parents’ benevolent philosophy, I created The Dalal Family Foundation to continue their ongoing mission of social responsibility. The Foundation is a shining reflection of my parents, Jyoti and Pravin’s teachings and charitable work.

“Profit with Purpose” and “Growth with Goodness” are two themes that best explain the mindset and motivation behind the Foundation’s goals and impact.

More than two decades ago, The Dalal Family Foundation began with the broad idea of aiding those in need. The foundation’s goal is to have the greatest possible impact in the areas of Education, Empowering Women and the Disabled, Senior Citizens, Medical Welfare and Animal Welfare. For more than 25 years, we have partnered with organizations in the United States and India that share the Foundation’s vision and whose expert platforms give our projects a larger impact in the lives of the intended beneficiaries.

As I continue to lead and grow The Dalal Family Foundation, I feel I am getting closer to fulfilling my own destiny of being able to help others. I thank God for making me a “Nimitt” (the Sanskrit word for an “instrument”) for service to the community. I also thank my wife, Bindu, and three children, Aditya, Akash and Anuskha, for sharing my enthusiasm and supporting me. As we say in my family, “If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your path.”

I look forward to The Dalal Family Foundation continuing thoughtful giving and making a positive impact for many years to come.

About the Founder

Mr. Nayan Dalal is a successful entrepreneur and a philanthropist. He is the CEO of TLI Home, and founder of The Dalal Family Foundation Inc., New Jersey, USA

Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Nayan moved to the United States more than 35 years ago to pursue his MBA. In 1992, Nayan established TLI Home, a home textile import company in New Jersey. Today TLI Home is a leader in the Home Textiles industry with offices in South Plainfield, New Jersey; Mumbai, India; and Shanghai, China.

Nayan’s personal philosophy resonates with the words of Winston Churchill: “We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give” and William James: “The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.”

Inspired by his parents, and a true desire to make a difference and give back to society, Nayan established The Dalal Family Foundation in 1997. Recently, Nayan opened a satellite office of the foundation in Mumbai to spread this noble work outside of the United States to his birth country of India.

Nayan also serves on Boards of Trustees and Advisory Boards of several social, cultural, educational and charitable organizations in the United States and India.
