Women Empowerment

The Dalal Family Foundation is committed to helping women with limited resources or who have disabilities. We believe that empowering women brings new energy, ideas, jobs and positive change to their families and communities. If you change a woman's life, she can share her knowledge with her sisters, daughters and friends to become a force for positive change in the community around her.

Girls on The Run

Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a life-changing, non-profit program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grade. Its mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The "24-lesson Girls on the Run" curriculum combines training for a 5k (3.1 miles) running event with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers, enhance their problem-solving skills and make healthy decisions. The Dalal Family Foundation is supporting the empowering efforts of GOTR by adopting schools in low-income neighborhoods.

Jyotiben Dalal Disabled Women Empowerment Project, PNR Society, Bhavnagar, India

Disabled women in rural areas face many difficulties when it comes to education, professional training, and earning a livelihood. They are considered a liability to society and live in miserable conditions.

In an effort to improve their precarious conditions, develop confidence and make them economically independent, The Dalal Family Foundation is supporting the Disabled Women Empowerment Project (Jyotiben Dalal Viklang Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojna) under which these women get trained in sewing, beauty parlor treatments and computers. Financing is given to these women for the purchase of Sewing machines and beauty parlor kits, thereby making it convenient to start a small business.
